“A mentor is someone who allows you to see the hope inside yourself.” — Oprah Winfrey.
This blog will be super easy for me to write BECAUSE I’ve had the guidance and teaching of a mentor for several years. He’s not only my mentor, but now my friend.
My mentor is Michael Freehill. A guy who puts his heart into everything he does daily, and always tells me, “When you’re with me I’ve got you.” I’ve been an official Brand Ambassador for going on two years, in 2025. Where does the time go, you ask? Well, time flies when you have as much fun as I do.
What I do has become my passion BECAUSE of watching Mike and learning how to be that voice for the consumer that we help. That person who really doesn’t yet know that they have that voice in them as well.
I researched all my Quantum products, and I encourage consumers in the area to do the same, if they are able. I still come to Michael with various questions, and even in his busy schedule he takes the time to help. And then I can help others. And more often than not, he’ll say, “great job. I knew you had it in you.”
That kind of mentorship has not only helped me, but it also showed me who I want to be like when I grow up, not if. Growing up is optional, they say. But if I must grow up, I want to be like him. He’s a person I strive to be like. What he’s done for me is a gift I can’t repay. So, while he watches in the background, I’ll shine. I hope when he reads this blog he’ll be proud of the young woman he basically planted, and is now is watching bloom.
Michale has always been the type to encouragingly state, “say yes, you never know what may happen.” Or my personal favorite, “it’s not a no, just not now.” And that’s basically what propelled me to the place I am today. It made me work harder, and find the sun behind the proverbial dark cloud, at times. He always says that what I’ve done up to this point is my doing. Hard for me to believe, but because of him, and his “push” (pun intended) I’m doing what I absolutely love.
So Michael, if you are reading this, thank you for encouraging me to find my niche, and going beyond the call of duty at times. I couldn’t do what I do without you, as well as I do. And I hope you’re proud of the woman you’re now seeing “do her thing.”
