The holiday season for 2025 is here! Winter has never been my favorite season, but I love the inner warmth of holiday cheer and events that bring together families and friends. The best present I could ask for this year is my brand-new Quantum Stretto electric wheelchair. My current chair is still functioning; however, there are minor wear and tear issues since she’s 5 years old, so it’s finally time for the next one.
With all the options I was presented with for my next chair, I picked the exact same one I have now. I really could not ask for a better chair than my Stretto; it fulfills all my needs and keeps me functional.Having my old one as a backup will be very helpful in case I need repair or servicing that sometimes can take a while. This will mean I won’t have any disruptions in my life when needing repairs. My current chair is named “Andromeda”, and I’ve decided to name my next one “Artemis”. I chose the Midnight blue color because blue is the color for nursing (which is my choice of career).
Something I want to go to this holiday season is the Christmas Village in LOVE park. It is a seasonal outdoor holiday market with holiday lights, food, and drinks. Because it’s outdoors, I need to remember to bundle up and wear layers. The warm cider that they have there is the best. Another thing I’d like to see is the Wanamaker Light Show, which tends to be indoors. There is also a holiday punk rock flea market that happens indoors every year, which is wheelchair accessible.
While I’m focused on finishing up this semester in school, it’s nice to get excited for things. I’m excited to see my family and friends that I haven’t spent in-person time with since I’ve been focused on school. 2026 is coming soon, too! Next year will be the biggest and best year of my life, and I’m going to be rolling into it with a brand-new chair and a lot of get it done energy.
