A Love Letter to My Electric Wheelchair
February is the month of love. While some people are writing sonnets, giving chocolate or swooning over roses, I’m here to confess my deepest, most reliable love: my electric wheelchair.
Specifically, my Stretto Edge 3 electric wheelchair from Quantum Rehab.
It doesn’t forget anniversaries. It supports me unconditionally. And it literally lifts me up when I need it most.
The Showstopper: iLevel
First, let’s talk about the true showstopper: iLevel.
This magical feature raises my seat up to 12 inches. As a result, I can cook at the stove instead of supervising from afar. I can grab clothes from my closet without asking for help. I can reach items while shopping like a regular human adult.
And perhaps best of all? I get to look people in the eye instead of having awkward conversations with their midsections.
Romance, dignity, and accessibility is chef’s kiss.
All-Day Power (Without the Anxiety)
Of course, all that freedom wouldn’t mean much if I constantly worried about running out of battery. Thankfully, I don’t.
The battery life on my Quantum electric wheelchair is phenomenal. My daughter and I have tackled 12–14 hour days at Disney World, from rope drop to fireworks and all without a single moment of battery anxiety. Throughout the day, I can tilt, recline, lift my legs, rise to eye level, and keep my headlights blazing like I’m part of the nighttime parade.
In other words: no rationing features. No mental math. Just the freedom to use every function exactly when I need it.
Lighting the Way
Speaking of headlights, the LED lights are no joke. These babies are bright.
Power outage? I’ve got it covered.
Dark parking lot? I’m glowing like a disco ball of independence.
Drop a tiny Lego? Found it far beneath the couch.
They’re practical, yes but they’re also a small, shining symbol of independence.
A Love Letter to the Footplate
Next up: my articulating footplate, which honestly deserves its own fan club.
Whether I’m wearing flats, heels, or something cute-but-questionable, I can adjust for heel height with ease. Not only does it help relieve pressure on my soles, but it also allows me to elevate my legs and give my body a much-needed break and all without sacrificing style.
Function and fashion? We love a supportive partner.
Comfort That’s Essential
Finally, there’s power tilt and recline.
Since I sit all day, literally being able to change positions and relieve pressure isn’t a luxury. It’s essential. These features support my comfort, protect my health, and extend my endurance.
All rolled into one very good-looking power wheelchair.
The Kind of Love That Shows Up
So this February, while love songs play in the background, just know this: my Quantum Rehab electric wheelchair shows up every single day.
And honestly? That’s the kind of love story worth sharing.
