My Perfect Staycation

I tried to do staycations every other weekend or as much as possible. They are fun and inexpensive if you do them right. For me, the perfect staycation is when I have lots of time to eat at some good restaurants and kick back.

Eating Out

I’d start my morning with some awesome coffee, a good breakfast, then meet up with a couple of people. We’d go to the park or just hang out. We’d enjoy the weather, take a walk or maybe hang out at a restaurant or two. Later on, I’d go to Good Heaven BBQ. I don’t get to eat there as often as I used to, so I usually get it through GrubHub. Their BBQ is delicious. I might also get something from Smash Burgers. Either way, you can’t lose.

Relaxing

After a meal, I’d go home and watch some good movies. It’s good to veg out and relax for a bit. I enjoy the ideas that come from all the good food. Now, in a perfect world we wouldn’t have the COVID-19 pandemic, and on warm summer nights, this is the time of the year to go out and mingle with people. Unfortunately COVID-19 is part of the reality is when going out, so we have to be careful. Still, I’d enjoy going out for a few drinks and talking with people. It’d be a good evening with good company. Simple things like this are always the best parts of life. I find as I get older, I appreciate those days and moments more and more.

Enjoying a Cheat Day

During my staycation, I let myself have all the snacks I want. If you’re careful about what you eat or are on a diet, pick your favorite things and let yourself indulge a little. We’re allowed a cheat day, especially since we don’t allow ourselves to have those things on any other day. So treat yourself when you’re on staycation!
