Some people might find me weird but honestly, I don’t like scary movies, Like, I don’t care for them at all. It’s not because the movies scare me, although I’m sure some of you are thinking that I’m a scaredy cat!! Seriously though, that’s not the reason. It’s the fact that most movies that are supposed to be scary aren’t good movies. They’re corny and predictable. Or, the movies use cheap scare tactics, like the character turns around in the movie and then there’s someone there unexpectedly…BOO! So cheap. I this kind of thing can be good on dates. It’s a good way to get someone to curl up close to you, but not me.
When I watch scary movies, I get bored. It’s not because I don’t believe in ghost or spirits. I’m fine with Sci-Fi movies, as long as they tell a story that’s believable and make sense. Just about every scary movie made isn’t believable or realistic. And don’t get me started on the characters in those movies. They usually always make the worst decisions that get them killed. It’s laughable! It’s like that Geico commercial where all the characters were making unbelievably bad decisions, like hiding behind the hanging chain saws. I really laughed at that one.
Don’t get me wrong. If you love scary movies, more power to you. There’s certainly enough out there to keep you entertained. Just keep on enjoying them and I’ll watch something different. Happy Halloween!
