Fun Summer Activities That Get You Outside

It’s summer again! I’m so excited to not be dealing with snow. We had six months of snow and I’m ready to get outside and have fun. I don’t miss the cold either. I love to be warm! Now that summer is here, one of my favorite activities to do this time of year is to play frisbee golf.

Playing Frisbee Golf at iLevel®

The basic goal of frisbee golf is to get the lowest number of total throws when you complete the course. Players start from the teeing area and throw a disc at a target. Any shots going forward must be played behind the spot where your disc previously landed. This is known as “the lie.” Each hole is completed when the disc lands in the basket.

For me, frisbee golf is fun, relaxing and not too difficult. When I play with my Edge® 3 Power Wheelchair, elevating my power chair seat at iLevel helps give me a little more height when throwing the disc.

Skateboarding

Another thing I like to do when the weather is warm is go skateboarding. I have an electric skateboard that goes really fast. I love to pick up some speed and just rip through town. It’s great to be outside. It’s therapeutic for me.

So, whatever activities you enjoy this summer, whether it’s sports, BBQs or picnics, just get up and get outside!
