Desk and counter height
Desk and counter heights can vary, and so should the height of your chair! With iLevel, I have the freedom to rise to tall counters and lower to the average height of school desks. This freedom allows me to engage and be seen in all aspects of my daily classroom life. Additionally, iLevel makes it so much easier to make my way through crowds of students – more people notice me when I am at their eye level.
Distances
University campuses, known for their sprawling size, presented a significant challenge while preparing for college. The size of my campus left me wondering whether my chosen mode of transportation could seamlessly adapt to the demanding environment. Fortunately, this state-of-the-art mobility device, equipped with superior tires, an efficient battery, and an impressive speed ability, not only met but exceeded my expectations.
Battery power and charger
Speaking of batteries, my Stretto has a battery life that lasts me through the entire day. From early morning classes to midnight snack runs, my battery is awake and alive. I always bring my charger for emergencies, and it conveniently fits well in a college-sized backpack with more room for a laptop and books!
Rain resistant
My state is pretty rainy most of the year. While some may prefer umbrellas or rain coats, there aren’t a lot of rainproof options for my chair. My Stretto is rain resistant (notice I didn’t say rain proof). This means I can comfortably move from one building to the next in heavy rain, but I would be a little more cautious if I was outside for longer than five minutes.
Backup camera
My backup camera has saved my life more times than I am willing to admit. It has saved me driving backwards off of sidewalks and backing into groups of people. I highly suggest getting this addition to your chair even if you are an experienced power chair driver. Additionally, I keep my backup camera on when I am alone on campus for personal safety.
