Get ‘Schooled’ in iLevel

As a student, having iLevel® Power Adjustable Seat Height on my power wheelchair has helped me do so many things at my school. It has helped me during school and allows me to participate in after-school events and activities.

During the school day, iLevel makes my life so much easier. In my Chemistry class, we work at lab tables and I lift my chair up so I am level with the height of the table. This allows me to do the labs and write my notes.

In every class, we must actively participate by writing on our smart boards. To do this, I elevate my chair to reach the board so I can write my answers. Before, I had to send a friend up to the board with my answers but now I can do it by myself.

I am also an office assistant at my school and to complete some of the tasks I need to be elevated. For example, I put the mail in teachers’ mailboxes and without my wheelchair I would not be able to reach many of the mailboxes because they’re so high up. With iLevel, I can reach every box in the mail room. Plus, being elevated allows me to communicate with people in the office and help them with things they need.

After school, I am a sports announcer for my school’s soccer games. Without my iLevel power wheelchair, I would not be able to see what is happening on the field. The press box is where I do all the announcing for soccer and the windows in the press box are higher than my wheelchair when it is in the non-elevated position. With my chair elevated, I can see the whole field and nothing blocks my view.

I also do the announcing for Vex Robotics competitions. My iLevel power wheelchair allows me to see the robots, so I know what they are doing. iLevel also helps me talk to team members and clearly hear what their team name is.

iLevel has changed my life for the better and I experience the benefits every day. Without it, I would not be the person that I am today. Having iLevel on my power wheelchair lets me complete everyday tasks and allows me to be more involved in school activities. iLevel brings a new life to all the people that use it. I am forever grateful for this life-changing technology.
