I absolutely enjoy everything about the fall season. For me, the weather is just right. It’s not too hot and not too cold. Fall is the true “cool” season. It’s the perfect time to go camping. Waking up to the morning dew with a throw blanket over you and being surrounded by trees is priceless. Eggs, grits and sausage cooked over the fire pit never tasted better. Fall also means having peace of mind knowing that bears are hibernating. This helps me sleep in the tent at night when I don’t have to worry about bears

Waterfalls are also great places to visit during the fall season. There are a few waterfalls I like to go to that I can actually drive up to in my power wheelchair. One waterfall is called Anacoloca Falls, located in Georgia, that allows me to access it from the very top or almost at the bottom. I can get close up views either way and it’s beautiful. There’s also a waterfall in Brevard, North Carolina, that we usually visit too. Now with this waterfall, we actually drive right up to it. We just park the van, get out, and it’s right there. I can feel the cool fresh water sprinkling on me from the breeze.
Fall also reminds me that the clocks go back and I’m about to get an extra hour of sleep. I can mix and match my clothes and wear shorts with long sleeve shirts or a jacket. I don’t know why but, the weather is decent to me around this time of year. I don’t feel hot or cold. I just wear whatever I want and nothing has to match or make sense.
My favorite meal in the fall is hot apple cider with whipped cream and caramel drizzled on top. I’ve been drinking this since I was a little kid. Ground turkey chili with sausage is my favorite comfort food. I like my chili a little sweet and spicy. Chili also brings my family around. All my cousins and aunts tend to visit my house at the same time when it’s being served. Hope you all enjoy this fall season like I will.
