Why I Love My New Stretto Power Chair

I recently got my new Stretto Power Chair. For me, as a forever-until-I-die St. Louis Blues fan, the Stretto means freedom. I can go and do whatever I want, whenever I want.

For my Stretto, I did a Blues theme chair again. It’s much more subdued than my previous set of wheels. It still shows the 2019 Stanley Cup Champ logos anywhere and everywhere. Do you know how many “Let’s Go Blues” I get from people when I’m out and about? It’s fun!

Speaking of getting out and about in my Stretto Power Chair, I was recently at a family member’s home for holiday festivities. I could fit through their entrance doorway, with no problem! The Stretto is extremely narrow. Most of the places I visit don’t encounter a person with a physical disability too often, so they might not go out of their way to figure out how to get someone with a power wheelchair inside. Thankfully, my brother and his family have made as much accommodation as they can and it works well.

Another great thing about my Stretto is I can go to my favorite pampering place, my hairdresser, with very little hassle. iLevel helps when I get my hair colored and cut because my stylist can ask me to raise myself. This prevents any weird transfers from my power chair to the styling chair.

I recently attended the Stan Musial Awards and it was such a great experience. The Stan Musial Awards is the biggest honor in sportsmanship, where good deeds are the highlight. I rolled down the red carpet, while elevated at iLevel. I could see over people’s heads from my seat, so my view was not obstructed. I could order my beverage from the bar without being looked at differently.

Life is good but better at iLevel. You can become a part of the action, instead of sitting on the bench.
